Outdoorsy to Provide Free RV Accommodation to Hurricane Harvey Victims

Outdoorsy

Outdoorsy, the largest and most-trusted peer-to-peer RV rental marketplace, is helping provide short-term accommodation to evacuees of Hurricane Harvey by waiving ALL service fees for RVs used to house Harvey victims. Outdoorsy will also contribute $10,000 in RV rental fees to make RVs available at no charge to those displaced by Harvey.

"After our decision to waive all fees, our owners led the way by asking what else they could do to help. It’s this generosity and trust that makes each Outdoorsy rental experience possible. One of Outdoorsy's core values is to support and strengthen local communities, and we are glad we can do our part to help Houston,” says Jen Young, co-founder of Outdoorsy.

Outdoorsy, the largest and most trusted community-driven marketplace for RVs, motorhomes, campervans, and travel trailers waives all fees and works with its RV owner community to find emergency accommodations and help those displaced by Hurricane Harvey.

Additionally, Outdoorsy is working with its community to create a resource of RVs that have been made available by owners for free or at significantly reduced prices in the Texas area. Our goal is to have 500 owners pledge their RVs to the program, creating almost 1500 accommodation spots for Harvey victims.

Outdoorsy CEO, Jeff Cavins said, "With almost 50,000 displaced people in the TX and Louisiana areas, we realized that our RV community could mobilize to provide short-term housing solutions. When people are in need of a dry, safe, place our RV community can be there to help.”

In addition, we will also be matching donations up to $5,000 in a telethon hosted by CBS Austin and Telemundo Austin. All proceeds will go to the Salvation Army's Disaster Relief Efforts in Texas.

Outdoorsy's program is part of a larger effort by the entire RV and campground community to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. Evacuees living in RVs will now also be able to find spots at partner campgrounds at free or heavily discounted rates in the San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and surrounding areas.

Outdoorsy urges any RV owner wanting to get involved with relief efforts to register on Outdoorsy.com  or to call us on our Hurricane Harvey helpline at 1-415-930-4841Additionally, we request all media organizations to share this list of resources as widely as possible.
